    Re: Check out this TV!!

I don't think I'd like it...it'd be hard to watch because everything would be TOO big...wouldn't be able to see the whole picture unless you were sitting a mile away...

Husker(vision) has a bigger TV, make that Olie State will have the largest TV if they ever get their palace built with Boone Pickens oil money.

An earlier CF thread indicated plasma (especially for larger sets) unless you have a lighting problem in the room.

Each of them has there own positives... Plasma shows black scenes better, LCD don't burn in like plasma etc... there is a list that you could probably google to find! I would say go with LCD, but that is just my opinion!

    Re: Check out this TV!!

LCD is getting better to pretty much handle the same things as plasma...the biggest difference is that plasma can be viewed from any angle and look like it's supposed to, whereas LCD used to be dark from the sides, but is getting better.

    Re: Check out this TV!!

I'd say plasma is better especially if price is factored in. But as others have said, LCD is catching up and the more expensive units are at least on par with the good plasmas.

What would be awesome would be to have 6 pictures inside so you could watch 6 football games at the same time.

Three screens could be showing live sporting games, one screen for Tivoed Gladiators or 24, one screen for ESPN classic, and one for HG Network for the Mrs.

    Re: Check out this TV!!

anything under 40" LCD is a better buy, and everything over 40" the plasma is a better buy. I've heard that any LCD over 36" has to have two panels fused together because the way the screens are cut or something, so its more expensive to put together a large LCD screen TV. If you want a big TV for less coin, go with the DLP. Not a true flat, but they can get very big for very cheap (65" 1080p for $1500)

1080p is a joke though...but thats for another day

If you wanna go big, you gotta get an HD projector. Those things are awesome and much more affordable for giant size.
