    OSU's team speed

Of lack of it. Did anyone else think OSU looked a step behind on all most every play tonight? OSU is suppose to be the fastest team in the Big 11 and they got smoked tonight by LSU. The Big 11 needs to look at its self as a conference, forget about the power, plain jane O, and get speed some speed or they will be left in the dust. After this game they have a lot to prove. The SEC has had it figured out for years, the Big 12 is about there, the Pac 10 is trying to get more speed and some conference are just staying the same. The last few years we have saw the Big 11 go out and add some new branches to its coaching tree lets see if it helps them become a faster conference.

Speed does kill, I'm glad to see Chizik and his staff get some fast players. Being fast and quick helps mask some other problems players and teams have.

Remember how much faster ISU was than Iowa this years? Speed wins games in college football today.

Those poor OSU boys practiced up Norh indoors and must have lost a step or two.

    Looks like the Roadrunner won:

Speed can cover up mess ups...you might screw up, but if you're fast enough, you can hide it a lot of the time...

I'm just tired of watching bad Big 10 teams in the NC game.

You mean the speed that had Iowa almost winning or tying the game? I'm sorry, but we weren't that much "faster" than Iowa this year. They almost ran back a game winning TD with 1 tick left on the clock. If we were "much faster" than them, we would have had them down around the 25.

Again the South beat the North in team speed. When will they learn that Southern boys are fast?

Didn't flags litter the field on holding calls though?

And what kept them that close? Magic?

They had the speed to score the only TD in the game...

They sure did. Many Hawk fans gloss still gloss over that fact.

Even had they reached the endzone that play, the game would have still been ISU's by rule due to the penalty would have ended the game.

I still think Iowa had a tad more speed overall than us. Of course, Bates was probably the "speediest" man on the field.

My bad Dave, I thought you were referring to the game as a whole and not that one play.

My point remains that Iowa wasn't much (if any) slower than we were by being able to stay that close by using their speed to move the ball in the second half while we slept, much as they slept during the first half.

I agree, if you look at the game as a whole, the speed on the teams is about even. Maybe, giving us a slight, slight advantage.

But, the only way to figure this out would have been to line both teams up on the goaline and have a foot race.
