2nd Best time of Year for ISU Fans

Is the start of Big 12 Confernce basketball play. There is something about watching Big 12 games on Saturday on the Big 12 Network, hearing those fimilar voices calling the games, The Big 12 Studio Show, Big Monday, Wednesday Night Hoops, 90% of the games now are good ones, the fight for the top, the great fans, the legendary areans, the fight to the end, the coaches, the physical play, the players, the upsets.

i hope our guys are ready. It will be fun to watch who can claim spots 4-6 in the conference. It looks to be a wide open fight.

BP needs to play big at Baylor or we will not be in the game. The guards will be the key to a good start to the New season.

Key in the Baylor game will be good Defense and no scoring droughts on Offense.. i think if we continue to play good defense and can go the whole game with out a bad scoring drought we can win.. but if we have a scoring drought.. this Baylor team can hurt you..

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

Or simply put - score more points than the opponent

If it was just that simple!

Honestly I worry about all of our guards defensivly against the quick guards Baylor has. They are talented and experienced. I really don't see this game going well.

i know the way i wrote it.. it looks dumb.. but reall the scoring droughts have killed this team alot... and i think it will be key not to have one or to not have a big one..

First Big 12 road game = loss in my opinion. It's takes special teams to win on the road in the Big 12 against a non-patsy. I don't think this team is special.

Pomeroy gives us a 12% statistical chance at the game. However, win that one and the next two and I'll keep NIT hopes alive. If not, I'll hope for the CBI.

Well said. I've been watching Big 8/12 game since I was a kid and always look forward to this time of year. The Phillips 66 ads, Dave Armstrong's "WOW!", Gallagher-Iba, Allen Fieldhouse, Hilton Coliseum...

Bruce will probably have about 11 threes and drills us again.

Not really feeling this game. BU allows about as many points as ISU forces. It'll probably be a rough road loss, but doesn't necessarily mean the season is lost.

Life on the road in the Big 12 is tough for even fairly seasoned teams. We are not seasoned. I'll be really surprised and impressed if we win this one. It'll be interesting to see how the freshmen and transfers hold up in a hostile environment.

We beat Mizzu away for our first Big 12 game last year, and I think we are better this year than last. I definitely think we can beat Baylor, especially if all our starters play well. It seems like each game one or two people will have great games, while another will have an ok game. Hence, when Wes has a good game, Craig doesn't. If we could have them all having a good game, we can easily win.

    What's "CBI"?

Out of curiosity, what's the best time of year for ISU fans?

(Sorry if I missed it somewhere).
