Why Hawkeye Fans are Irrational Homers

Because their announcers, Gary Dolphin and whoever the other moron is, are the biggest irrational homers of them all. The fans learn it by listening to these guys. So much less objective and less overall class than current and recent past ISU announcers.

Iowa squeeks out a win over weak Illini on the road. Boy, what a great schedule.

It all started with Zabel, who by the way, just celebrated his 412th birthday.

and at least 400 of them he has been so drunk I doubt he remembered anything. Ol zipperhead drunkard is the most biased announcer I have ever heard and is probably 75% of the reason for my absolute hatred for the pukeyes. He is proof of what the Indians did to the buffalo.....or vise versa

24 to 7 on the road is not squeeking out a win. I hope we can squeek out a win on the road this year. Look what Colorado almost did yesterday to GA. There are alot of close games this year that you would think would be blowouts but arent.

Not to stick up for the Hawks, but you are so far out of line by saying this. First of all, with pretty much every single Hawk game being on TV, I would imagine that at least 80 percent of Hawk fans listen to their games VIA T.V. Second, Gary is a terrific announcer, and IMO is a class act, meet the guy just one time and there would be no reason in the world you could disagree with me.

Making statements like this makes us Cyclone fans look like the ones who act without class, and makes it look like you are acting in the same way some of the Hawk fans did last year, looking for pathetic reasons to make our athletic program look better then theirs just, because we lost to them in football.

No, it was squeeking out a win since Illinois is so BAD. Like KSU bad.

No, I am not out of line. I've heard him speak many times on sports radio, and he is a huge homer and frequently not respectful of other teams/facts/etc. If you disagree, then fine. I can't stand to listen to the guy because he is exactly like other hawk fans. If there is a legion of cyclone fans that troll hawkeye message boards and act in the same manner as what I witness in my daily life and on cyclonereport from hawkeyes, then I guess cyclone fans may not be that great either. But I live in Iowa City, I hate hawkeye fans as a result, and Gary Dolphin epitomizes them.

But you listen to him anyway? Again I will ask...Obsession?

You know when I cant stand somthing I usually just avoid it. For the life of me I would never consider listening to the Notre Dame play by play. Why in the world would you give time (by listening) to someone you dislike so much?

Lets don't play the easy schedule card this year. The B12 North is not exactly stellar this year. IMO

What the heck you sticking up for Dolphin for?? I hope you are not trolling like the other EIU smacksters. I agree about Hawk announcers are all homers because there isn't an objective one in the bunch. If Iowa plays bad, it's the referee's fault, or something else that has it in for the Hawks, never that they played bad or, God forbid, the other team was better then they are. Take last years bowl game against Florida. Iowa plays like crap the whole game only to get a few breaks in the second half that gets them close and what do I hear from homer fans????? The refs screwed them on an offsides call or it would have been their game, not that it took until the 4th quarter for them to get a pulse.

That's what I like about ISU announcers. When we suck, then we suck.....end of story. It is always somebody who has it in for the Hawks that cost them the game. Heck I wish that was true, because I have it in for them and nothing would make me happier then them getting their homer arses kicked on national TV until the local junior high drama team would rather walk on their lips thru broken glass then to film one on their games..
