    dish....online vs. phone vs. local store?

    quick question. those of you with dish (in particular dishnetwork), where did you sign up for it? is there any benefit to getting from a local place? online makes me a bit nervous, is this silly? do you get any say in when they come to install?

    thanks for any help.

    It is nice to use a local provider.. as you can walk in anytime and they will help you. personally, I do all of mine through Dish via their 800 number.

    Go local if possible. I used the Satelitte Communications in Ames. The national company will give you a large window of when they "might" be there. Our guy was there when he said he would and did a great job installing it.

    Also, if you need service they were able and willing to help me over the phone. The national company wanted to send someone out for $90 minimum when it turned out to be a bad coax cable.

    I too use their 800 number. Have had no problems to-date. When they installed my dish (at both my last two houses), I was able to get them to install the cables where I wanted them....they've been flexible to me anyway.

    keepngoal is just trying to get $50 for himself (if he refers another customer).....all options he listed are available whether you get a referral or not. But, if nothing changes for you, might as well help out a fellow clone with an extra $50!

    I'd be willing to give you a promotion code so I get a $50 referral bonus! Don't order without giving one of your CF buddies here a referral! I ordered mine over the phone through the 1-800 number and really don't see how it matters where you order. A local tech will come out to install it anyways...
