That was a great game to watch, prob 2nd best of the day (Penn state).

Wish they had a change to get possession back of only for a play to make it even more interesting, win or lose.

Edit, this was actually better due to teams, stage, and timeslot.

    Re: Okie st...

The ACC is soft and always gets exposed week 1 when they go up against other P5 schools. Just a nuance of college football. (ACC does great vs the Big Ten but is awful against the SEC, P12, and B12 again just a nuance of the game and lends itself true annually and week 1 the ACC almost always sucks.) This is also a little bit of a let down spot for the defending national champs and is similar to teams getting taken down to the wire or beat by a 1AA.

I don't think Okie State goes on the road and beats an elite Big 12 team this year. They play most of the good ones away from Stillwater. They deserve a lot of credit for a good showing tonight but Im not really sold.

    Maybe at kickoff.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

I appreciate your saying that. I was saying the same thing to my wife, but it's nice to hear it from an objective source.

    Re: Okie st...

Lets take a quick glance at the ACC...

My school should have lost to Villanova

NC State was down big and should have lost to Ga Southern

UVA faced a west coast team playing like tehy were woken up at 530 am and their offense handed UCLA 21 points

Wake Forest couldn't get a first down against Monroe to save their life and lost despite having a 10-0 late 2nd half lead (the 7 came on a blocked punt of course.)

Clemson had a great 1H in their rivalry game vs Georgia but still were blown out

Everyone else played someone awful (worse than Nova who are at least the best 1AA in the northeast) and Ville and Miami go Monday. Never rely on an ACC team week 1 to pound someone it rarely if ever happens.

Nothing would surprise me. Remember when Kentucky got free throws before tip because Kansas State got a technical for dunking during warm-ups?

    Re: Okie st...

OSU will put up 70 on our pathetic as defense. Our pathetic *** offense might put up 7.

    Re: Okie st...

I feel like watching the rest of this season will be kind of like watching a live train crash... you just kind of hope that everyone will be okay but it is messy. I've been an Iowa State fan my entire life and can remember three distinct sinking feelings on first games... 1. Chiz' debut. 2. UNI last year and 3. (the worst feeling) today. We have had some really bad seasons but nothing that seemed as hopeless as this. When I heard that our O didn't score on our D in the practice game I was freaking out a little. Now I see that it was justified. If this team can turn it around and win a few games it will be truly remarkable.
