No, I hardly complained at all during the Men's Basketball season for some reason? Oh that's right, because we were good.

This is 6 years in to Rhoads' tenure here folks. Not year one or two. This is when we should be peaking. Instead, we've gotten worse every year pretty much.

JP is a master of selling crap to fans though, I'll give him that. This year we're "selling" Mangino and a new high powered offense that everyone needs to come and see!

Next year we'll be selling the new SEZ that everyone will need to come and see. JP is brilliant! Not many people could find a way to sell this product like he does. It's amazing.

How can you call it blind pessimism in the same way the poster you quoted called it blind optimism? There is actual physical proof of pessimistic concerns. There is no proof after this 20-point loss at home to an FCS team that we are going to have a worthwhile season. Being optimistic at this point can be labeled blind, being pessimistic is simply a matter of looking at the facts.

Sure I will watch but we are pretty much playing out the string already. Maybe we can get an upset or two...

I thought we could compete against FCS schools. But we still can't.

No, we expect to beat fcs teams when we have every conceivable advantage over them in year 6 of a coaching tenure. Oh not only did we lose, we got mercilessly pounded. So no, not 12 games.

    Re: Season over before September

I'm not quite sure I'm going to watch many more games this year. Probably the Iowa game. Other than that, my kids are getting to that age where I need to make sure and spend time with them now, before they get too old and tired of their old man. Probably best to be outside with them, playing catch, fishing, other family stuff we can do before they don't want me around anymore.

And personally, I love my kids, I'd rather steer them away from loving a team that just dispenses heartache for it's fans.

    Re: Season over before September

Sad to say, but after week 1 the Cyclones are no longer appointment viewing for me, at least this year. If I happen to be home and nothing else is doing, I'll put them on. I already removed them from my DirecTV favorites so they don't poison my DVR anymore.

Not sour grapes, but I've got a family and other interests and I just won't waste my time if this is the kind of effort I'm going to see.

If this team can't win more than a couple of games, I think it will take more than shiny new SEZ to fill the seats...

Why not - last time we played Toledo they won (God I was there, what a miserable experience - nothing worse than lousy Ohio fans)

I was there as well. 11 point lead with less than 4 minutes left, and we gave up that lead without Toledo's offense even having to run a play. A very ISU-like loss. Still never found the "good part of town" in Toledo......

Should have used protection, my friend.

I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord,
“You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. During the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”
“Because,” says the Lord, “Sandpeople always ride single-file, to hide their numbers.”
