As long as there are 50,000 fans that feel like you everything stays the same because this is all about money. As long as Jamie has a sell out he is happy. If people are satisfied with the product and re up on their tickets Paul could go 0 and 12 and all is cool. What do the fans want.

NDSU did not have a player ISU would want or recruit. NDSU had 9 new coaches all of which would give their eye teeth to be good enough to coach Division I. We have better facilities but were gased after 3 series and couldn't go on the rest of the game. But no one is making excuses for them only us.

    Re: Your Reaction Sucks!

In 2009, 2010, & 2011 it really felt like ISU was very close to turning the corner. 2012 came along and ISU had a pretty damn good defense from top to bottom, quite a lot returning on offense, and then they went F'n 6-7...and that started to really sour me.

ISU now seems to be in an eternal vortex of trying to develop young talent all over the place. A very young team last year, and they will be again all this season. ISU will return a lot next year and we'll all probably get duped all over again thinking we may have something here.

Rhoads has really burnt up my sense of optimism, or giving him the benefit of doubt anymore. Now we aren't even getting those big upset wins, just uber embarrassing losses.

I think my reaction is perfectly warranted.

One that knows it's strengths & weaknesses and really doesn't deviate too far from the norm from year to year. We also are very good at adjusting to opposing offenses.

I wish ISU the best going forward. And my point of this thread was don't let this game deflate you, use it as motivation.... both as fans and players. Yeah, you should be asking your coach what they will do different for the rest of the season. But don't throw away the season based on a single loss.... regardless of if the team you lost to is Division 1 FCS NDSU or Division 1 FBS Alabama.
Check out Eastern Kentucky-KSU 2011. KSU tends to plays down to the opposition in the non-conference. Even then, it was a fluke win. I don't think anyone that watched your game with them last year thought you were the better team or that KSU had fundamental flaws.

On the other hand, this game today was eerily similar to the UNI game last season, except UNI looked like a better team. Today it looked like s bad team ***-whooping a horrible team. CPR must go.

The kicked the **** out of and demoralized us. No comparison between the two games. One was competitive, one wasn't. We were NOT competitive with an FCS school. Understand that? There is no way to sugar coat this one anyway you slice it.

Brilliant analysis. But you are right. ISU lost again for the 10th time in the last 13 games and since you are so fond of comparing our situation to KSU - how many times have they lost in the last 13 games? Or does your comparison stop where convenient?

When you give up 80 yard runs(which they did twice one was called back) the defense has nowhere to hide. 500 total yards. That's what they gave up. No one should be defending anything about this team including the defense.

Let's compare ISU and WVU's losses today. We were beat in every aspect of the game today by an FCS school. West Virginia played way above anyone's expectations and played with the #2 team in the country. Who's players do you think went to the locker room feeling better post game today? Who's fans want to go to the next football game more? Who's coaches feel like they have something to build with for next week's game?

    West Virgina's

I get the problems with the D. It's not a surprise, and CPR was very open about it preseseason. We lost our two safties and our best corner. We also lose two starting D linemen. Lose our starting safety who's raw as hell in his own right, and we're up against it all the more. Linebackers - can't argue with anyone on how disappointing that is. But still - not all that surprised with the D's perfomance.

I'm more ticked about the 14 part of the 34-14.

No a loss to OK St is just a loss. Hell, losing to KU would be just a loss.
Losing to a team like NDSU, and UNI last year, means you can no longer view all other losses as the staff doing all that one can reasonably expect, but just could not overcome the talent deficiency that comes from some inherent disadvantages. It is time to realize CPR's tenure likely peaked in Year 1 because our coaches are not good.
