In my opinion, there's just not much you can be negative about on a quick-reaction post game radio show, because it's hard to be confident enough in what went wrong to blast coaches or kids on the radio. I guess you could come up with a bunch of creative ways to say the team just sucked.

If we're needing to reach for a way to blame CW, I've stretched my mind to come up with one that may or may not match up to actual facts.

It seems like we haven't won many football games since CyBookie went down for good. Since it's time for blame stretching, it's clear that CW made that fateful decision to get rid of something that was causing all kinds of problems for his site at the expense of any football success.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

    This may have merit.

    "May" being the key word.

Also a good, to great, point. Bring back CyBookie.

would like to reiterate...I don't think anyone is blaming CW for the crap we saw tonight. I certainly don't, anyway.

    Agreed.

Ick. Orwellian. There's irony in there, too, if you take a second.

Hmm... It took awhile but this is a good point. Doesn't mean I agree totally but it's definitely something to take into account.

yeah, he fumbled twice and dropped the baton at halftime!

Re: Chris Williams making excuses left and right

Second straight year of being manhandled by a FCS school. I realize North Dakota State is not your average FCS school, but when Rhoads started here we were FAR better than them. What has happened since? It's year six and they just rattled off 34 straight points against us. Can we not compete against NDSU on the recruiting trail? Are they just coached THAT much better than us?

Looking at our defense, how many of these guys would even be sniffing the field at other Big 12 schools not named Kansas? How in the world is this the case in year 6? I don't know another school out there that has as good of fans as us...incredible to get the crowds we get when we are consistently bad.

    A 2-10 storm is coming.

Chris, keep doing what you're doing. Haters gonna hate. If they don't like the product you're putting out there, they just need to go elsewhere.

Come on, people! It's a free site. Don't like it? GTFO

You haters realize that Chris feels the exact same way you do right? For crying out loud, it's a dark day for all of us. Give the guy a break for being a man and soldiering on on a day most of us just wanted to get home and drown our sorrows in a Busch Light can.

I can't tell if Chris really believes some of the things he sells, but I have to admit he is a hell of a salesman and because of that this site does very well. He deserved credit for that, but he also deserves blame for this type of crap. He's taking it like a man and I applaud him for that.

I think there is a fine line that a guy in Chris' shoes has to walk. His job certainly has benefits when he is connected with the program. It's pretty tough to stay connected to the program if you're constantly bashing the players and the coaches who are running it. On the flip side it's pretty tough to maintain what I would call "journalistic integrity" when all you're doing is writing dreamy things about a team that ends up being flat out terrible. You can't honestly tell me there hasn't been some serious red flags these past couple years. You have to cover both sides of it, and Chris just focuses far too much on the positives. You can be critical and respectful at the same time, and I would think his connections within the program would understand and even respect that (then again we all know CPR can be a bit immature with the media so who knows).

I get the positivity, but like I said, there's a fine line. In my opinion, which I'm entitled to, Chris crosses the line by being far too positive and many people on these message boards read much too far into things that he says which then causes them to create totally unrealistic expectations,. In some cases it makes the fan base look a tad bit ridiculous. Like Stormin for example... That guy severely fed into all the hype. His comments all offseason just look insane right now. Some of that type of stuff is absolutely the result of the way Chris, CPR, an JP go above and beyond to sell the fan base even if they know damn well the stuff they are saying is a huge stretch. This type of meltdown wouldn't happen if the Cyclone fan base wasn't served so much hype these past couple years. Chris doesn't work for the University. He's the one person out of those three individuals who has a lot more room to be critical and he just doesn't do it.

I'm thinking of a Robert Downey line from "Tropic Thunder"..
