Meh inflated big time from Fla and WF(?) playing there, the rest were low to mid 40's for the most part. And that even seems generous from pics I have seen from game days.

I for one am not going to blame Miami for having a stadium with 80K capacity because they have national championships under their belt and at one time needed that many seats. I'm also not going to blame them for having a decrease in attendance following sanctions.

Miami, Pitt, Wake, Duke, BC, etc.

I'm not way off base, I own a television, I've unfortunately subjected myself to some ****** ACC football in front of empty stadiums multiple times. In terms of support there is Florida State, Clemson, and then a whole lot of inflated attendance numbers.

We're gonna see more of that. Even UNI was talking about moving up for a while. I think there is a certain capacity their stadiums are supposed to have.

What's ESPN doing covering a non-SEC school? Maybe they were "In the neighborhood".

Re: So, why is Georgia State part of FBS?

The Big 12 averaged 58,899 per game last year. The ACC averaged 49,982 (about 15K more than all of the ISU games I attended while I was a student at ISU - '04-'08). Don't act like the Big 12 is light years ahead of the ACC. Also, there's still a huge difference between the power 5 and the next conference (Conf. USA at 33K per game). Also, the ACC produces more NFL players than the Big 12. Look it up. The Big 12 does have the upper hand on tailgating and stadium noise (FSU and Clemson accepted), but this notion that the Big 12 is heads and shoulders ahead of the ACC is getting old.

You must be watching a different brand of ACC football than everyone else then. But don't let your NCSU bias get in the way.

It's not so much a bias as it is the fact that I've actually attended ACC games in real life only to realize that this higher-than-though sentiment among ISU fans towards the ACC is ridiculous.

My eyes tell me those attendance numbers the ACC puts out are hilariously inflated.

Why in the hell is this guy white knighting for the ACC? I'm really confused by all of this.

When it comes to football it's not that the B12 is heads and shoulders above the ACC, it's that the B10, B12, P12 and SEC are all heads and shoulders above them.

Re: So, why is Georgia State part of FBS?

Attendance figures are based on ticket sales, not butts in seats.

Miami sold ~31k season tickets for reference. But it should be noted they are a small private university with its stadium located 30 minutes from campus.
