Have a tough time seeing two SEC teams, despite having 8 preseason Top 25 teams. That would probably mean no one from either the B10 or B12. Seems Florida State has a good chance to run the table and the PAC12 winner will get pretty big love (6 of Top 25, 3 of Top 11).

    I'm sure Braxton's backup isn't too bad.

Remember the backup QB who came in for them (I think for Pryor) and won the bowl game for them a few years ago? He lost his job, stuck around, and ended up being the hero in the bowl game. I'm sure that they have some solid backups. In fact, they out-recruited us this year for a QB names Joe Burrow whose father had Ames connections, but now is in Athens, OH.

Not good news for the Tom Herman bandwagon....feel really bad for the kid, when healthy he's one of the most exciting players in the country. I'm sure the media won't take this into account when tOSU loses, they'll still get treated like a top 10 team all year.

I bet you in particular were downright suicidal when Iowa started 9-0 on 2009

Re: Braxton Miller OUT for season

I feel like this thread would be a good time for me to put my jinx on the Hawkeye football team.

Around the middle of the Iowa MBB team's Big 10 schedule, when they were playing REALLY well, I posted on here that they had a legit chance to win the Big 10. After I posted that, they completely went in the tank and nearly missed the NCAA Tournament (actually they did miss out according to some of us since they didn't make it past the play in game).

So.... I figured now was as good a time as any to put my official jinx on the Iowa football team as well.

As we all know, Iowa's schedule is a complete joke. Their only somewhat difficult games IMO are @Pitt, Nebraska, and Wisky. And they get both Nebraska and Wisky at home. I feel they have as good a shot at winning their weak division as anyone else.

And if they win their division, they will be in the B1G Championship game. And now, with Braxton Miller going down, everything is really lining up just perfectly for these hackeyes. Imagine that. So they will likely avoid playing OSU now in the title game as well and instead get MSU.

And MSU won't be easy, but they at least won't be a mismatch athletically and speed wise like OSU would be IMO. So you never know who wins that game?

All I'm saying is that this season could not possibly be lining up any better for Iowa, and they could make a run at an undefeated season if everything went right for them.

There. I did it. The jinx is on. I now fully expect a complete meltdown season in which they start off with a loss against UNI, a close win against Ball State, a close loss against ISU, and get whooped at Pitt.... to start the season off 1-3. How awesome would that be? They'd be running KF out the door so fast over there in IC. I can't wait.

Congrats. It takes a special kind of pathetic to relish in a college athlete losing a season to injury.

They didn't mean "good" that he got injured, Einstein. They just meant it was good that it means Iowa fans will be all that more excited about their season's potential..... only to be letdown once again. You know.... kinda like basketball season.

    Right, so "good" =/= "good".

Bet Tom wishes he had one Sam Richardson now. Whom he said was one of the smartest Qbacks he had ever been around.
