Rob Gray: Ferch proved his mettle at home, then at ISU

I really enjoyed this piece on Drake Ferch written by Rob Gray.

Nice article Rob. Ferch is going to make a lot of big plays this year. Don't care if he's a walk on..he's the kind of player that we would see at UNI making plays all over the place against us.

Have to admit, I cringed a bit at the distinction between the two--"Ferch is always in the right spot"--which implies that Jared isn't.

Part of this fanbase is like the parable of the blind men and the elephant.

    Who knew?

He was at times last season. Jared had a big sack in the Iowa game, but he was way out of position and the Hawks could have run a reverse that would have went for 20-plus yards if that was their play call.

It's kind of interesting though as brackens is everywhere making plays when u watch the vids and spring game. I see what Wally likes in Ferch as when u watch spring game he's right where he should be every time but brackens is the fastest and most athletic LB we have.

I know the staff and some of the players got annoyed with it. But think Coe but not as bad when it comes to football related things.
