KU and WVU, and he looked good.

I am hopeful that both guys will be competent with Mangino as long as the Oline does its job.

Re: QB decision to come on Monday

Just watched the post-practice interview with Rhoads on Cyclones.com. Reading between the lines, I have a feeling the starter will be Sam. Rhoads didnt say either way, but, I caught the nuances in the interview and read between the lines, and Im now predicting Sam.

I know a lot of people... Granted none of them know anything about Iowa state football... I feel it's Sam as well

Re: QB decision to come on Monday

I like both the kids that are leading the competition - Sam or Grant. That said, if sam is the starter, i hope that Mangino does not call 23 running plays for Sam against NDSU or we will be seeing Grant!

Secondly - Sam being the starter may be why Montgomery showing signs in the right direction makes sense being they played HS ball together.

Good Luck to both, i for one will not boo either, both can lead our team not only to wins but whichever has a better grasp of offense has a LOT of tools to work with on the O side!!!!

Hopefully we don't have an offensive coordinator who wants our QB to lead the team in carries and run 15-20 times per game.

That would be a good start to keeping a QB healthy.

From Sam's answers it seems pretty obvious to me that he got reps with the 1s today far past the rotation Sam and Grant had been in previously. Anyone at practice who confirmed that would be enough for me to totally believe it.

Sounds like we have three qbs to spread the load.

Let my Fred's Posse Ride: Georges, Naz, Hogue, Bryce, Nader, Monte, Matt, and McKay.

I agree with you in general, however, even Sam has attributed his growth as a QB to the fact that he is hanging in the pocket longer and letting the play develop beyond the line of scrimmage as opposed to running as soon as he feels the heat. That is an indication that many of those runs last year were SR's decision, not our inept OC's. Word I got was that was Mangino's hangup with SR, and it began as soon as spring camp got underway. It's really good to hear of Sam's development and fitting into the system cuz I think Sam is a more versatile QB and gives us a better chance of winning some big games.

Hines is clueless and so is Legesse. They think that since Rohach is younger that it would be better to go with Rohach. I disagree.

Hines is far from clueless... and he didn't predict Rohach strongly. Most of the conversation centered around Lanning being out of it and when Rhoads would decide.

Hopefully Rhoads bans Sam from riding him moped this year so we don't have a debacle like last year.
