Ames ranked 5th-best college town in U.S.

Ahead of towns like Chapel Hill, State College, Gainesville, Athens, and uh, Iowa City...pretty impressive!

It's fair that Ames is on this list.

A lot of typos in just the Ames section, I didn't read any others

I have a hard time calling Minneapolis and Pittsburgh "college towns", even though they each are home to Power 5 public schools.

    But I like the list.

My favorite from that show was when they did one in Ankeny and the episode was called "Downtown Des Moines"

Re: Ames ranked 5th-best college town in U.S.

As much as I like to see Ames high on this list, there is a large part of the reasoning that goes into this list that is nothing but garbage, including some of their stupid statistics that apparently make a college town so great.

Re: Ames ranked 5th-best college town in U.S.

Does that mean the number 1 is the best? Because how in the world does Ames beat Fort Collins? Or Bozeman?

Don't get me wrong. I love Ames and it should be top 50. But 5 seems like a little too much credit.
