    Speakers for computer?

Ok, new question for you guys and gals. I got the Dell Inspiron for X-Mas, didn't come with speakers, my old polk audio ones with the HP computer don't seem to work. (Which is good, because I want some 2.1 speakers).

Does anyone have any advice on good 2.1 speakers or just computer speakers in general.

P.S. thanks for all the help with the switching over computer thread!!! The flash driver has done it's job.

Logitech. Whenever you need some kind of peripheral (keyboard, mouse, speakers, webcam, game controllers, iPod stuff, etc.) the answer is always Logitech. They make high quality stuff with very nice aesthetics but are never very expensive. Here's their speaker page. I don't know your price range, but the X-240 is a good system for $50 MSRP that goes on sale online pretty frequently.

I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

to me speakers are speakers, when it concerns the computer. I have Altec Lansing with a seperate 6" subwoofer on mine. Paid $50.00 for them on sale @ Office Max

Agree completely on the X-240 comment.

I picked up the Logitech X-240 set up for my son for $39.99 at Best Buy just before Christmas and it sounded better than a $150 TEAC system that we had also bought. We ended up returning the TEAC system.

    Buy.com - Creative Inspire T3100 Multimedia Speaker - 2.1-channel - Black, Silver - 51MF0336AA000

For 2.1 speakers I got my cousin these for Christmas which I've heard are good. Amazon.com has 4 reviews on it and they got 4.8 out of 5 stars. Think they are fairly new as I can't find many reviews but I haven't seen a bad review on them of the ones I did find.

    Re: Speakers for computer?

I know this is a very old thread but I just got some new speakers and wanted to share my thoughts.

    Old Speakers
Logitech Z-640-They sounded just ok but I had them for a long time and wanted to lose the sub.

    New Speakers
M-Audio AV40-I got a pair that was refurbished for about $70(no longer). They are normally $200. Don't know what else to say but amazing. The closet thing I've heard to real stereo speakers. If you're heavy into bass you may need to add a sub but I've yet to see the need for one.
