According to IMDB, that is correct.

Edit: Actually his last role was being the voice of Dennis the Dog in Absolutely Anything.

I didn't like his comedy, which reminds me of Jim Carrey, but I did like a couple of his serious roles.

My personal favorite movie was The Survivors with Walter Mathau. I thought Robin was brilliant and hilarious in that. Dead Poet's Society was excellent as well.

I second this recommendation. If you can find it somwhere it's definitely worth a watch.

    Re: Robin Williams commits suicide

Rarely when a celebrity dies do I really have any sort of emotional response to it. But I'm finding this a bit harder to swallow and really depressing. Really, really sad listening to some of the tributes on XM this morning. His career work, his charitable work and the fact he really didn't shy away from his problems. Seemed to be a very honest and open person.

To this day, probably the funniest thing I ever saw was Robin Williams live at the Met back in the 80's. Really regret never being able to see him in person.

    Re: Robin Williams commits suicide

So sad. Not adding anything that hasn't already been said, but I never met the man but still for some reason feel as though a friend just died. His ability to relate, and his ability to touch all parts of the human condition was remarkable.

As far as suicide being selfish, I don't buy into the notion that one commits suicide as any type of selfish, attention getting mechanism. That makes no sense, they are gone and what sense of joy or fulfillment would they have in their own death that would make it a selfish act? I think that people who take their life do so because they genuinely believe their loved ones, and the World for that matter, are better of without them. That isn't selfish, it is a byproduct of a mental illness that has severely distorted their ability to reason. There is nothing selfish about doing any act which you have convinced yourself will benefit others.

    Re: Robin Williams commits suicide

Dead Poets Society remains one of my top 5 all-time favorite films. It resonated with me in so many ways. I was Todd Anderson. While I never had a Mr. Keating, I had people who tried, although their efforts were not appreciated until later.

    Re: Robin Williams commits suicide

I don't think people commit suicide as an attention getting mechanism, but I believe it's a "selfish" act in as much as it is intended to relieve the pain of the individual who is suffering, despite the fact that the individual knows (which doesn't mean they believe) that it will cause a massive amount of pain and suffering for the people who are left behind.

I believe that they truly believe this will benefit others, but how can they not know that it will cause those people pain? It's emotion vs. logic, and emotion wins. Such is the nature of mental illness. It exists devoid of logic, and being a logic minded person, I struggle to truly understand it, but knowing that it is irrational makes it easier to view it as an illness as opposed to a weakness or choice by the individual suffering it. People who reach that point are not capable of logic or reason, so expecting that out of them is absurd.

This is just not shocking to me, which is surprising. I have no idea why I wasn't surprised because I didn't know he had as serious issues as he had. That said, this sucks. He was quite the talent.
