RIP. This news almost brought a tear my eye. Horrible news. Loved Robin's acting.

I think it's because great actors and people truly see the world as it is.

Pfft! First, being a great actor doesn't automatically make one an enlightened individual, even though they all seem to think so. Second, there are plenty of great people who have a very positive outlook on life and don't suffer from depression and drug problems.

    Re: Robin Williams commits suicide

I'm stunned and really really sad. Such a bright light that went out today.

I loved almost all of Robin's work. He could perform so many roles so well.

A mystery why a guy who brought so much joy to people could not keep joy in his heart.

RIP Robin Williams. You will be missed.

You should maybe respond to cmjh10 instead of me. I've already made up my mind.

    Re: Robin Williams commits suicide

No Robin Williams movies on tonight but watching his good buddy Billy Crystal in City Slickers. My hope that Billy and his other contemporary friends do a redux of Comedy Relief in his honor for depression research and treatment. Lost a truly great funny actor today. Sadly I had hoped after hearing the news that this was a Hunter S Thompson type of deal.

    Re: Robin Williams commits suicide

Super sad. So one of my top three actors ever (I own everything he was in) dies on my birthday. I personally really liked Toys for as much as everyone else didn't like it. I won't be replacing him in my top three.

Other two on the list are Val Kilmer and Donald Sutherland, color me weird I guess. My movie collection has everything from each of these men and not being able to continue to build on one of them saddens me deeply.

    Re: Robin Williams commits suicide

So is his last film going to end up being the final Night at the Museum movie? That just seems wrong.

He'll always be the Good Will Hunting counselor and Dead Poets Society teacher to me.

    Re: Robin Williams commits suicide

It was so weird, because I follow a "conspiracy and truth" account on twitter and they posted a meme of his speech about life's passions in Dead Poets Society about 45 minutes before major news reported his death.

I don't normally give much thought to celebrity deaths, but this one hurt. Absolutely love Robin Williams. One of the best.

According to wikipedia, his last live action film will be a Christmas comedy. He also voiced a character in another children's movie.
