I see a fence on the other side of the "steps" that go through the middle of each hillside. I'm assuming that is how we will access the endzone section. However, will we be able to enter from the south entrance. It is looking less and less likely.

Maybe CW can make it happen.

That is the seating area for the Bison fans. Their hillside tickets will be on rock this year.

If the cam stays live, I might be able to pull that off. I'll see what I can do

If you click "archive" on the right hand side, you can find a time lapse posted every single day. I know the camera takes a picture every 5 minutes for it and it would seem to reason it will be available on gamedays too.

Just make sure that once ISU wins, we rush the SW corner of the field only.

I was thinking more so the arrivals of people into the student lots, and the stands we can see. As well as departures.

Looks like they are installing auger cast today starting on the East end lower level. They have the grout pump staged on the higher elevation with concrete trucks backed up to it.

I'd say that answers the question of the footprint.

My guess is that the piers that they are doing now will end up being the column footings for the lower part of the upper deck structure and they will have "clusters" of piers on the higher shelf that would be for the column footings for the upper part of the upper deck structure.

Also, their nice looking sub-base is quickly turning to a mixture of rock, dirt, and grout :(

    Re: JTS construction webcam?

I was just looking through the photo archive and noticed on 8/13/14 there is a make-shift tent structure overlooking a test-pile. Typically, after the test pile loading is complete and the data is analyzed the piers can get shorter in depth. The result of this is a credit back to the General Contractor and the Owner (Iowa State in this case) and also will speed along the installation as the drill depth is shorter and more piers can be completed in a day's work.

Anybody know if the piers got shorter as a result of the test pile?

I think you know more about what is going on than anyone else here.

I'm not associated with this project in any way but figured there is somebody from the General Contractor (Neumann), Construction Manager (Weitz), or ISU that could fill us in.

I know a guy in charge of scheduling the timing of all the different aspects of this project and he told me quite a bit a couple weeks ago. However, most of what he was telling me went over my head.

I want it to look pretty.

    Cyclone
Iowa State became the Cyclones after they leveled Northwestern in 1895. As the Chicago Tribune (9/29/1895) noted:
    'Struck by a Cyclone
It Comes from Iowa and Devastates Evanston Town'
