Rhoads is starting his 6th season with his 3rd offensive coordinator, after all. And Mangino is a former major conference HC.

Either Mangino performs and moves up, or he doesn't and heads out the door (perhaps with Rhoads, if the team really does not perform).

You feel the floor give you a little tingle, man, Iowa State junior point guard Monte Morris said in a private moment after the game, leaning against a wall in the bowels of Hilton Coliseum. You feel it. You feel it. Its real. You feel it on the court. Its a tough feeling to explain. Its a vibration. It gets you going.

    He paused.

    Its magic.

CPR makes him Co-Head Coach............MM runs the office and CPR runs the defense. The make equal money and reduce the stress of being the head coach.

Two seasons. He'll massively suck and get fired or he'll massively succeed and get one last shot at a head coaching job. Either way, out of town in two seasons.

How do you people know that the OP was referring to Mark instead of Tommy? I think Tommy will stick around as long as his dad stays here.

Re: How long do we keep Mangino?

I'm guessing that after the first game, ISU blows out the Bison and Lakes organizes a rally to gather up a bunch of that oil money to hire Mangino away from Iowa State to lead the "mighty" Bison to 10 straight FCS Championships.

Re: How long do we keep Mangino?

I don't have anything solid to base this on but I'd be surprised to see Mangino be in a big hurry for a head coaching job. He seems to be a lot more comfortable with his current role than he was at KU.
If not, as Pollard always says. "Having a coach that everyone else wants........what a wonderful problem to have."

Can we at least get into the first game of the season before we start our weekly "Kick ISU in the nads" threads???

An educated guess requires some kind of data to base it on. We have nothing at this point.

I don't believe he will leave after this year if we win 5 or 6. I don't think an FBS school would give him a job after just one year back.
