ACC and Big XII get Monday Nights. SEC and Big Ten get Tuesday nights.

Edit: Bigman beat me to it.

    Gotcha, thanks!

"I watch the Cyclone players and they look like guys who grew up fighting for everything they got, on and off the court. In a word, men. I look at the Iowa players and I assume when they were kids they played soccer in leagues that didn't keep score to avoid hurting anyone's feelings. There is not one single leader on this team. It's a group of high school friends playing a pickup game at the YMCA and maybe they will keep score, maybe not, because they are just happy to be there."

Omaha is cyclone territory. I think youre actually a cyclone fan at heart, but have been a fair weather fan of Kansas. Now that ISU is becoming a prominent name in college ball I fully expect you to jump back on the ISU bandwagon.

Didn't it used to be a triple header with the WAC or PAC 10 night-cap? Or am I misremembering?

Maybe? I didn't follow college hoops at all before college (Minnesota is pretty committed to ignoring the Gophers in favor of the pro teams) and my college years lined up with the Greg McDermott Experience, so I'm a relative newbie to Big Monday.

    Re: Big 12/Big Monday Schedule

Exciting that we are getting 3 or 4 Big Monday games. Fred has put us in the top tier of the conference and it is nice to be rewarded for having the best overall season in the Big 12 last year.

I would have loved to see us get another home Big Monday game, but 3 is huge. I'm pleasantly surprised that we got more than Texas since I think Texas might be picked ahead of us.

I'm hopeful that we have a chance at Gameday against Kansas at Hilton. ESPN hosts have noticed how exciting Hilton is and how we have kind of bucked the trend of lower attendance. They only need to do a a little research to realize that if students will line up overnight for a Michigan game, they would go crazy for Gameday.

My grandfather got his incoming freshman eye exam from Dr. James Naismith himself back in the late 1920s so sorry, no fairweather KU fan here. It has been bred in me since long before I was born. And yes, I do know several ISU fans/grads here in Omaha but there is also a surprisingly large number of KU grads here as well. But I wouldn't go so far as to call Omaha a Cyclone town.

So your grandfather is a Big 12 referee?

Since this is the internet I am sure it will end with "Yeah that is cool but I am a Cyclone fan because MY Grandfather got a prostate exam from Pop Warner."
