Just because players transfer out doesn't mean we need to speculate about it - before the season starts even. The Niang transfer out posts were making fun of posts like yours and you walked right into it.

I'd like to add that I did not see Fred Hoiberg anywhere near any of the three players, and that it might be a potential cause for concern.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

Re: Michigan State's Kenny Kaminski to transfer

I'm in for this guy. I know a lot of people are all about the high school guys but I don't know why. Get the solid guys like Monte, Thomas, and Custer from the HS ranks, guys that aren't that hard to recruit via proximity, connections, etc. and then bomb the transfer market.

It's so much easier, cheaper, faster to land a transfer. It's a major part of Hoiball.

Like it or not, the transfer game has become a major part of college basketball and Fred is at the forefront of it. It doesn't make sense to act like it doesn't happen.

Under the current graduate transfer rules, it won't make much sense for SDW to transfer after next year, even if he didn't see much hope for PT at ISU.

Respecting the players enough to not speculate about who may transfer out at the end of the year before the season even begins is a long way away from acting like it doesn't happen. I'm all for Fred bringing in transfers that will fit his program. That wasn't what your post was about.

Again, the Niang post was making fun of you - with good reason.

Providing a scholarship for a guy to sit out is in no way cheaper. The recruiting expense is cheaper but it's an automatic extra year of scholarship for a scout teamer.

I was speaking in terms of recruitment. Someone is getting that scholarship either way.

I bet this kid goes to Dayton or Xavier. Nothing more than my gut feeling though.

So far so good unless I'm forgetting someone. School has started.
