    Re: Friday OT - Contests

Won whitest legs contest at Tracy, Iowa during their now debunked town celebration. There is a reason people around me wear sunglasses. $5 bucks in the bag.

Same celebration, different year won the 2 man hand saw contest with my wife's cousin. Not sure if they had any money that time or not.

The only thing I have ever wanted was to be Pete Taylor......once.

I'll bet Papalew could give you a run for your money on that whitest leg thing. Redhead complexion. He's the only guy I've ever know that waterskis wearing jeans...those legs NEVER see daylight. :)

I've heard before you're supposed to eat a buttload of salad in the days before to stretch out your stomach.

    Re: Friday OT - Contests

When I was a freshman, a group of us had a contest to see who would eat spoonfuls of random condiments and other cooking powders.

I don't remember the order, but it included ketchup, mustard, cinnamon, protein powder, hot sauce that probably shouldn't be consumed on its own, and other stuff I can't remember.

There was no prize, and there were no real winners.

I had a teaspoon of garlic salt in the dorms once on a dare. That ended very poorly.

i made a little money in 3rd grade by putting ketchup in my chocolate milk and drinking it. I was the only one that understood that the ketchup sunk to the bottom

Not sure if this is really a contest, but I got over 20k in a bad beat jackpot on absolute poker several years ago.

At the time (it's probably been passed) it was the biggest bad beat jackpot ever paid. The hand loser got about 90k, winner got 45k, me and the other guy that folded preflop got 22.5 k.

Hands were straight flush over straight flush.

    Re: Friday OT - Contests

I won a pedal tractor pull contest at a small town celebration when I was about 14. I would have repeated the second year but me and another guy were the only two that got a full pull on the first pass and had more weight added for the second, and he beat me but he was double me in size. I won a tshirt that is still one of my favorite shirts.

We also have an annual family reunion catfish trot-line contest on the Mississippi(same town as tractor pull) with over 30 grandkids that I have won twice.

I don't really do any prep. It's all for fun in the events I participate in with no significant prizes.

    Re: Friday OT - Contests

Won several music trivia contests at bars back in the day, including telling the next table the answer to one that no one was getting (I was out of that round after already winning once) in exchange for a beer or something. I almost got kicked out for cheating but there were really no rules about telling anyone the answer.

Also did the same thing back at the beginning of my work days. Local oldies show had a trivia contest daily at 10:00 AM. Winner got a coupon for a meal at a local restaurant. We would take turns winning then all go to lunch together. The boss finally put a stop to it because literally every person in the department would stop whatever they were doing to either dial in or at least watch to see if we'd win.

This was, of course, long before internet searches (for the common people).

No matter what, I could NEVER cheer for Dirt and Urine.
