    I've heard they are strongly considering, when the SEZ is done, you won't be allowed out at halftime for re-entry. Few stadiums allow this now.

    But seeing the post below, I could be wrong??? ;-)

    I like that Pollard said that they'd continue to allow people to go out to the lots during halftime and still be able to return to the game for the second half, which kind of goes against what a lot of other schools are currently doing.

    I got dragged to my first Hawkeye game at Kinnick last year for the Wisconsin game and it surprised me that you couldn't do that there. Supposed party-school my *****.

    He definately wouldn't commit to a long term answer on that one, that's for sure. I could totally see them changing that in the next year or two..

    Why would we agree to be on the Longhorn Network if they weren't paying us for it? Do they think it will drive that many Cyclones. TV subscriptions given streaming will be limited to people in Iowa?

    I don't disagree with any of that. I do understand the argument that if you really want to be able to drink in the stadium, donate and sit in the suites. Control the environment, give people the option, and make revenue on it. Again, if someday ISU is one of the few in the conference not selling beer, they will likely be forced to cave I would think.

    Pollard is pretty smart with these things. One would assume it must make financial sense for us to do it. He wouldn't bow to Texas otherwise.

    Just a thought: Texas gives us permission to broadcast the game on our own network and then ISU is able to capitalize on the revenue from the advertisements. That is how we "get paid".

    You don't honor a player being killed in a game by playing the team that killed him as an anniversary tribute. Neither ISU nor Minnesota should consider that a good idea without regard to the 11 BCS team schedule part.

    You could do a lot of things to honor the anniversary, but scheduling Minnesota for the game should not be one of them. Austria, Bosnia and Serbia didn't schedule parades along the 'assassination of Archduke Ferdinand' route to celebrate the 100th anniversary of that assassination this year, I don't think.

    It is a terrible idea and MN would be idiotic to accept it. Nothing helps PR quite like the 100th anniversary of a man's death caused by your football team. Not going to happen.

    Yea... I bet there was a parade to go with the... cultural and sporting events and the big concert from the Vienne Philharmonic.

    That said... lets just replace Iowa on our schedule with Minnesota... problem solved.

    Does Mediacom offer the longhorn network? Could Mediacom be cutting ISU an extra check since the game will be available to them now without having to carry the longhorn network? But wouldn't it have been easier for ISU to refuse to play the game on the longhorn network?

    There is something behind the scenes that makes this deal good for ISU. I just don't know what it is exactly.
