I think the Packers O has potential to be 2011 good, while the defense is most likely going to be frustrating like it always is.

The offense will be just fine as long as Rodgers stays upright. I'm not sold on a clear cut favorite for the NFC North, so a great offense and so-so defense might be good enough to get them a first round playoff game at home.

I really like the personnel on offense. The OL is solid and probably the best it has been in years if they stay healthy. Solid running game with Lacy and Starks that gives the offense a different dimension. Not to mention having Jordy and Cobb. Rodgers really has a great supporting cast. The defense is young and may come together nicely, but there do seem to be some holes in that unit. I don't think they have any problem winning the NFC North, but they may run into trouble in the playoffs again.

Could be. But there isn't a team in the NFC that doesn't have a potential weakness somewhere - even the Seahawks. If a team can survive the attrition of the regular season, elite QB play can carry them the rest of the way.

A.J. Klein with an interception vs. the Chiefs just now. The announcer kept saying "A.J. Klein out of Iowa," the other announcer finally made sure to mention he was from Iowa State.

I think I speak for most Colts fans by asking if we can just fast forward to week two.

The penalties in this game are making it tough to watch. Every other play.

Is it mostly illegal contact and pass interference calls? I wonder if the league will stay committed to the crackdown on that once the regular season starts. I heard a lot of complaints over the weekend.

yeah, illegal contact and defensive holding calls. It's ridiculous. I get that they're cracking down, but they're really hampering the game. Glad it's preseason.

In other news, neither Manziel or Hoyer looks like they're ready for the job. Both have looked pretty awful

Manziel is AWFUL...if Hoyer had any kind of talent he would runaway with the job but since he sucks too, this drama will go on and on into the season.

The refs are ridiculous tonight...can barely watch it

The players deserve some blame too. It's not as if the league threw this at them last minute. They've had an entire offseason to figure out a way to play within the rules. That said, I'm guessing the officials back off sooner or later.

yeah, you're right. But, if they're going to focus on illegal contact so much, I'd prefer if they took away the automatic first down unless the contact occurs on the intended receiver. If it's away from the play, let it just be a 5 yard penalty, replay down. There have been a couple 3rd and 15+ illegal contact penalties, tonight, where the penalty had no bearing on the outcome of the play, yet bailed out the offense by rule.

Yeah, the Colts had two takeaways nullified by penalties away from the play on Saturday. I guess if the goal was to ensure that no team tries to take the Seahawks' blueprint and copy it, mission accomplished.

    Thanks, Legion of Boom.
