Yeah because they should not be allowed to have fun on twitter. It should all be about football every minute of every day.

We got manhandled, Man. They doubled our TOP by running the same play (Weisman, off tackle) over and over and over again (60 carries). They also converted on +50% of their 3rd downs, and they had 20 of them.

I guess we have different definitions. They had a great TOP but that isn't domination, it just means they waited a long time to snap the ball and they got the minimum amount of yards past the 1st down when they got it. We forced 20 third downs and they converted 11. That is not an outstanding percentage. It just means that they didn't have any big plays.

If you want to see us get manhandled look at what KSU did to us last year. Or Oklahoma. Even UNI. There are a lot of examples.

    UNI: 6.9 YPC
    KSU: 4.7 YPC
    OU: 9.2 YPC (405 yards!)
    Iowa: 3.5 YPC

TOP for the KSU and OU games? Them: 62: 16 Us: 57:44

    Scoring margin? -72 points.

Not to nitpick, but wouldn't this be nearly a half more?

I would be giddy over the whole thing except for the fact that Scherff is going to go top 5 in the draft easily if he stays healthy. Kind of perpetuates the "little brother" thing.

How will we be able to match up against this brute? Park a wood stove or a car in front of him? Does he false start much?

I was just doing mental math, but calculating it 490 is 68 percent of 720, so it'd be 32 percent more. Roughly a third. Unless I'm doing something wrong. Math never was a strong point for me.

You can't just subtract .68 from 1 to get the opposite percentage. you are correct that 490 is 68 percent of 720, but 720 is 47% more than 490. In order to translate from one to the other, you need to divide one by that number, not subtract from one.

    Re: Shots fired at Scherff

Like many on here, I opened the thread thinking the news was going to be something totally different...something along the lines of:
"Iowa Lineman Experiences a Close Call"
    Iowa City, Iowa
According to a police report, shots were fired at University of Iowa lineman Brandon Scherff while exiting Starbucks early Tuesday evening. While the identity of the shooter has not been confirmed, multiple witnesses claim that a young man on a moped, armed with a BB gun, was seen riding past the store and speeding away on South Clinton Street at 7:12pm. Police say that they are on the lookout for a young African-American man - about 20 years of age - and approximately 6'6", and 200 pounds...
