Newcomer of the Year is a Cyclone award. We're not giving that up.

If McKay or Dejean-Jones doesn't win the NOTY, it's because they already won the POTY.

I think BDJ will be a first teamer with Foster.

Re: Yep, it's too early but how about All League hoops this coming year?

    Here's my take:

    PG: Staten (WVU)
    SG: Hield (OU)
    SF: Niang (ISU)
    PF: Ellis (KU)
    C: Turner (UT)

    Second Team:
    PG: Morris (ISU)
    SG: Taylor (UT)
    SF: Nash (OSU)
    PF: Spangler (OU)
    C: Alexander (KU)

3rd team, too tough to order:
Woodard (OU), BDJ (ISU), Foster (KSU), Edwards (KSU), McKay (ISU), Chery (Baylor), Selden (KU), Oubre (KU)

Jesus H., this conference is LOADED.

This. It is extremely hard to pick this because of all the talent at the top.

This but swap McKay for BDJ. BDJ pushes Foster and ISU pushes KU.

At this point the newcomer award to ISU is about like KU to win the title. I remember a couple years ago a lot of our own fan were touting some OU transfer who averaged less points and less rebounds than Clyburn in the same MWC conference…of course Clyburn easily outproduced him and won the award, can't even remember his name now.

If Fred is our coach and we're not bringing in the best transfers, it's likely because we're layering top 50 players on top of each other at a high rate…which I'd be fine with too :-)

Isn't this the guy that ISU brought in for a visit when he was transferring but after watching him play while on campus they declined to offer?

Yep, he visited. Transfer from Maine. I think he'll be solid for KSU

How about we add coach of the year as well? I think you know who I would vote for...

We will have BDJ, Nader, and McKay all eligible for NOY and all projected as major contributors. I suppose its possible they end up splitting the vote and letting Edwards slip through.

Not sure if you're trolling or just an enormous homer with your NOY pick. That award has been dominated by Iowa State and there isn't anything to suggest otherwise this year. I won't be surprised if BDJ, McKay, and Nader are the top three candidates for it in the whole league, let alone from ISU.

“You feel the floor give you a little tingle, man,” Iowa State junior point guard Monte Morris said in a private moment after the game, leaning against a wall in the bowels of Hilton Coliseum. “You feel it. You feel it. It’s real. You feel it on the court. It’s a tough feeling to explain. It’s a vibration. It gets you going.”

    He paused.

    “It’s magic.”

I don't think splitting the vote is a real thing here. Aren't there just 10 votes total and coaches can't vote for their own player?

If so I could see BDJ, McKay, and Nader tying with 3 votes each and maybe Fred throws Edwards a bone to get his 1 vote...
