    RIP James Garner, 86

    http://www.latimes.com/local/obituar...ry.html#page=1

Rockford Files is my all time favorite 1 hour drama, though filled with comedic moments, too.

Loved the interplay with Evelyn "Angel" Martin (Stuart Margolin B: Davenport Ia)

Also check out the Movie "36 Hours" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0057809/?ref_=nv_sr_1

No matter what, I could NEVER cheer for Dirt and Urine.

Rockford Files as a favorite of mine too. Great one hour Drama... and MUCH better than Magnum.

RIP Garner, a hell of an actor.

If any of you own a '70's vintage Firebird you should take it out and do a couple 180 degree "Rockford" turns as a tribute!

BTW, I was in 1st grade when Maverick started but sang along with the Maverick lyrics in the video michaelrr1 posted. How the hell would I remember that.

Great actor. I know about his older stuff ,but it was a little past my time. I know him from the movie Maverick, and his time on the sitcom 8 simple rules.

We also lost Elaine Stritch who had a long storied career. For younger people she was on 30 Rock but I remember her from the Norm McDonald movie screwed where she played Mrs. Crock.

Maverick was just one clever show. Better than the movie.

You should rent the two I put up...he was a wonderful actor, always had a certain charm regardless of the character he played.

One of the first DVDs my son requested when he was in Iraq was "The Great Escape". It was borrowed so frequently that he left it there when his deployment was over.

Stand alone, it might have been okay. Paled in comparison to the original (tv show).

    Sorry, I loved the movie.
"you've been misquoting me all your life!"
too young for the show but recall Rockford, although that may have even been in syndication.

Nothing to see here mods. Keep moving.
