Re: NFL Sunday Ticket now available as standalone...no DirecTV needed!

As a cordcutter without cable or satellite, and a Vikings fan living on the East Coast, this is a very tempting deal. $200 is a bit high, but it comes out to about $12/week over the course of the season.

    I did notice this, though:

How do I find out if I am eligible to purchase NFLSUNDAYTICKET.TV?
At this time, NFLSUNDAYTICKET.TV is available to people in select areas, residence types, and enrolled in select universities. To find out if you're eligible to purchase it, visit NFLSUNDAYTICKET.TV and click Get Started.
That is from DirecTV's FAQ on their website (from the article) but the link is not yet live, so I imagine DirecTV will make an official announcement about details soon.

You feel the floor give you a little tingle, man, Iowa State junior point guard Monte Morris said in a private moment after the game, leaning against a wall in the bowels of Hilton Coliseum. You feel it. You feel it. Its real. You feel it on the court. Its a tough feeling to explain. Its a vibration. It gets you going.

    He paused.

    Its magic.

If I were in your situation, I'd definitely go for it. I'm a cablecutter myself, but I can get the Bears games on local TV every week in eastern iowa.

Last year when I had streaming access, I had to fill out the form as well. I own my home and can definitely get satellite. I passed the eligibility requirements anyway, so I'm sure you'll be able to do it. I think that's just DirecTV trying to scare some people into subscriptions.

I was able to put my info in and it showed me as eligible. I wonder who wouldn't be eligible?

Considering that I spent well over $200 in bar bills just to catch the Bears....count me in

Re: NFL Sunday Ticket now available as standalone...no DirecTV needed!

I've seen someone ITT say you can Sunday ticket on xbox. I already have direct TV at home and I get the SundayTicket at home. But I'm at Iowa state and obviously can't get direct TV in the dorm room. Can I somehow transfer that direct TV Sunday ticket through my xbox so I can watch it in the dorm? Big question, I know.

There are only 7 or 8 schools that are eligible for the discount

I have a feeling you are ineligible if you have had dtv on our house. I currently have it and am not eligible obviously. Also saw speculation that the tablet phone version is cheaper because you won't be able to mirror it to a tv. Don't know if that is true just what I read.

I also did the Madden thing last year even though I already gave directv. Just hooked the laptop to the projector and it worked great. Also had my fantasy football hooked up to the laptop. Wish they would offer that again.
