    Re: New Movie - Lucy

I still remember SJ in "The Island" with Ewan McGregor.

She was probably 19 when they were doing the shoot for that.

She's made quite the career in this type of movie.

Everyone understands that movies aren't documentaries, thanks to the message board geniuses for that "revelation". But if the only change you're going to make to your alternate reality is pretending this old myth is actually true, then that's a really lame basis for a movie. If they've made a more intresting world they've done a terrible job showing it in the trailer.
So you guys have a problem with the underlying premise of the 10% thing?

Not the rest of the story that a person can be ruffied, cut open and turned into a drug mule and that drug leaks, thus turning this woman into a body morphing savant who could teach Morpheus a thing or two.

Not that anyone can't like a movie. I've hated (or refused to bother see) about all the movies discussed on this board this summer as well. I'm not into this robot/ape/superhero genre that has taken over Hollywood. But to go on about this simply because the premise engages the 10% thing. Well, it reminds me of the crazy furor around the Da Vinci code (book and movie). It's entertainment.

You could apply the same thing to me - I'm not really blaming anyone for thinking they way they do. I thought "Gravity" was about the dumbest thing I ever saw for many of the same things you guys think about this. It was beyond unrealistic (to the point of idiocracy). I mean, seriously - George Clooney in space? Come on...

Oh don't get me started on this topic. Lots of anger there.

Calm down there, Ruby Slippers, I don't think anyone has talked about "hating" the movie, or posted anything on the level of "crazy furor." Simply pointing out what I thought was a funny/strange premise to a film. I guess I didn't realize that was wrong.

Why would it being set in a different world be more interesting or necessary?

I'm calm Janny Pants. Just engaging.

I just find it funny that, what appears to be a tiny detail of the movie, is what everyone is focusing on. Again, given all the crazy stuff that comes out in movies.

And btw - the only "hate" I referenced was my own.

And in actuality - I'm neck deep in this cause I keep getting report errors and whiny users and just don't want to deal with them.....

I can't wait for another movie where people swap identities/personalities.

    Hilarity always ensues.
