Nope, didn't attend any of the big three. Almost all of my family members did, though.

I follow recruiting in and out and minus one class he has out recruited Chizik hands down. It's about player development in Ames and Iowa City for that matter. And offensively Rhoads has really struggled with that. Musical chairs at quarterback has not helped.

No, and don't know who section 110 is.

I'm sorry if I made it seem I was comparing him to Chizek. I'm not. Just saying with the players he's recruited he has not had success.

I won't deny that I just hate the correlation of "oh Rhoads was more successful with Chizik's players" when, in fact, he had an easier schedule in 2009 with 3 cream puffs in out of conference and no OU or Texas on the schedule.

And you can turn that whole conversation around and say at least Rhoads could win more than 5 games in 2 seasons with Chizik's players and Rhoads did that in 1 season.

You mentioned he had a bad coaching staff on the offensive side of the ball. Who hired that staff? I thought that was the coach's responsibility as well.

I like Paul, but it will take a super coach to turn isu into a winning program. Kinda like Bill Snyder or that one guy before Chip in Oregon. They both turned those programs into winners.
This "super coach" you are referring to will never come to ISU. And even if he did, he would leave and go to a better job his first chance. See: Gene Chizik. He was the labeled "super coach" ISU needed (but he failed here obviously) then he bolted for Auburn and won a National Title there a few years later.

Super coaches don't come to (or stay at) ISU. End of story.

It's quite possible that it will never happen, but both OR and K-State probably thought the same thing.

When you said terrible year you were talking about 2 years ago is the way I read it.

Well Jim Harbaugh did interview for the job but Pollard didn't give it to him. If Harbaugh could build up Stanford, he probably could have built a couple special seasons before he bolted.

I wonder where ISU would be now if Pollard would have hired Harbaugh instead of Chizik.

    It's always interesting to ponder.
