Who wins the Home Run Derby?

It's at 7:00 CST tonight. There's a new format this year.

    I'm going with Giancarlo Stanton.

Going to be a homer and say Dozier. I'm glad he got picked for this. It'll be fun to see Morneau back in the cities too.

I find waching the hitters take pitch after pitch after pitch without swinging more brutal than Berman's call. Besides having an OUT counter, have a taking a pitch without swinging counter.

I don't know if Stanton will win, but he will hit the most impressive homers, that's for sure.

Why haven't the Twins put Dozier 3rd or 4th...he leads off and barely has any RBIs to show for having 18 HRs.

Because he's a much better leadoff hitter than he is a cleanup guy. Only Mauer, Willingham, and Suzuki have a better OBP, and those guys aren't exactly speedsters that can steal bases the way that Dozier can. Dozier does lead the team in runs scored, by a wide margin, for what it's worth.

The Twins' plan, the last I heard, was to use Aaron Hicks as their leadoff guy once he ripens a bit more in the minors (he did bat leadoff last year, but was absolutely terrible).
