I was going to post something similar. As much as much heart stopped last year his pacemaker must have been overworked! Best wishes out to Fred!

I would feel more confident if Fred was doing the surgery himself. History has shown he is better than most at everything.

I bet he's upset he has to do this in July, isn't July one of the biggest recruiting months of the year? I would hate to have him rush things...

@TravisHines21: The surgery will be done at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. and Hoiberg said he anticipated being released tomorrow afternoon.
I think I read somewhere that the batteries only last for 5-10 years, so he would probably need to have an operation to get them replaced in the near future anyway.

If he's a surgeon at the Mayo Clinic, you can immediately rule him out as a Hawkeye.

I hear it's not nearly as risky a procedure as the one he's already had done where he had his blood replaced with ice water.

This is me being REAL dumb, but I assume with each new one the battery life gets better and better (think batteries of today vs when you were a kid).....wonder if they will ever get to the point it could charge like those proximity chargers that cellphones use now.

Obviously, never want to mess with the batteries of the thing that keeps the ticker going.

That was birth. Once Fred explained the process to the doctor through a sophisticated series of knocks and kicks, there was no danger.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

What I find fascinating is the way that the data is downloaded from them. My father calls someplace in California (he's in Arizona) every couple of months and holds the phone to his chest.

Hope Fred has a long healthy life like JO. He did play for the Pacers.
