Re: Kevin Love Trade Scenario (Poll)

Minnesota has made a lot if bad moves but this time they are making another team look bad. They somehow convinced Cleveland to give up the one guy they didn't want to give up way ahead of any trading deadline and with no other teams to compete with. Wow!
Cleveland acted so panicked to get Love it's comical.

Lebron's building another all star team. At what point does this start to get pathetic and embarrassing?

T-Wolves have a commodity that the Cavs desperately want. It's a sellers market.

We'll see if the T-Wolves capitalize on this at all though or just wallow at the bottom of the league some more.

Cleveland had no choice but to comply with Lebron's demands. Lebron is the GM of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

It's kind of how the NBA works now. It's really hard for a team to rebuild the old fashioned way. You have to draft a star player and then try to get a couple more to jump on board via free agency or in this case trade for the 3rd piece.

Cleveland also has 2 first rounders next year to help fill a postion via draft or trade if there is a immediate need.

No doubt this Cav's team is better set up than the Heat were when LeBron took his talents to South Beach. Still Miami made it to 4 Finals in a row.
You are smoking something if you think Cleveland is better set up than Miami was. Wade is one of the greatest 2 guards of all time and Bosh was basicalllg Love. Plus the defense of Wade and Bosh is way better than than Irving Love.

Yeah but they were competing with themselves for Love. Minnesota would get nothing if they didn't trade him to Cleveland so they weren't just goin to let him walk. The Cavs are so paranoid that Lebron will leave again that they acted irrationally.

If they didn't include Wiggins, the T'Wolves would have easily found a better offer. The Cavs package of Waiters-Bennett, mid first round picks isn't that enticing.

My point of the better rosters at the time LBJ arrival still remains. In the end it is a good trade for both parties assuming Love stays, he's only 25 and should be entering his peak years. The Cav's don't have to wait on Wiggins/Bennett to mature 2-3 years from now while Lebron is in his prime and immediately contend next year.

T-Wolves can rebuild and put an exciting athletic team on the court, even with Love this year there ceiling was a 7 or 8 seed in the West at best case senerio. Now they can bottom out get another top 5 pick added next year while fans get to see Rubio throwing ally-oops to Wiggins/Lavine and get a young nucleus started to contend as the West declines in 3 years (SA/OKC/GS).

Your hatred of all things Lebron is baffling. Did he dunk on you once or something?

Go back and look at the list of NBA champions in the last thirty years. How many of those teams had a superstar and nothing else to complement them? Every single one of that featured a superstar also featured at least one future Hall of Famer and/or sidekicks with multiple All Star appearances on their resume. Blaming Lebron for wanting to play with other good players is ludicrous.

I always kind of laugh when the old NBA guys criticize him for it, especially Barkely. Of course Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and MJ didn't become a free agent to chase titles. They were flanked by hall of famers where they were at.

If LeBron did dunk on him no one would know cuz he would prolly steal the tape.

Also, every time I read the argument about LeBron being pathetic for building All-Star teams, I don't understand it. Why is that a bad thing? He wants to play with good players so they can win games and potentially championships?! What a piece of crap he is.

If he didn't get to play with these rosters, his teams would win like 50 games and everyone would call him a chump who doesn't care about winning, just getting paid, or something along those lines. People will find something to criticize him about.

It's because back then teams didn't waste 50% or more of their draft picks on foreign players or 1 and done flame out. They don't take kids that can contribute right away thru the draft. So free agency is about the only way to get anyone.

Re: Kevin Love Trade Scenario (Poll)

So the Cavs get a young double-double machine who averaged 26 points and 12 boards last year.

They gave up Wiggins (unproven at this point), Bennett (scrub) and a first round pick (they still have one)

    Advantage: Cavs

The trade was clearly a win-win scenario. Love was going to walk after this season. Minnesota got something (potentially a future superstar) for him instead of nothing. And the Cavs got their missing piece to their potential championship roster.
