I remember this game. Iowa State had a chance to win, but Arnaud overthrew an open receiver (Darks maybe) at the end of the game and ISU lost.

Yep, Darks. Wind took the ball over his head.

ISU's first 3 drives ended with a missed PAT, botched FG snap (on a 25-yarder), and another missed PAT. 5 points left on the field. Lost by 5 points.

This. Darks was wide open and the ball just sailed a bit.

Arnold was under tremendous pressure during that play, so it was a wonder that the ball was even close.

Re: Is Dominic DeLira the next Todd Reesing?

I like the fact that the same high school coaches brought up Reesing, Manziel and now DeLira. You can bet he's getting good coaching at the high school level by guys that have experience with high D1 talent, which will help him be ready to play here.

You can spend a lot of time and money picking out the perfect floral bouquet for your date ... but you're probably better off checking if you have bad breath and taking the porn out of the glove compartment.

The moral: you gain more by not being stupid, than you do by being smart. Smart gets neutralized by other smart people. Stupid does not.

FYI. Manziel played of Kerrville TX, for the Tivi Antlers of Kerrville High School, a 100 miles or so Southwest of Austin, where my folks used to live. Believe they played one another in the playoffs though.

It was the following week, with the Nebraska 8 turnovers game being 2 weeks after that. October was a weird month that year.

Typical Cyclone logic, setting the bar too low.

    How about Dominic De Football?

Re: Is Dominic DeLira the next Todd Reesing?

He actually had a running back that was the man on offense from what I have been told. It will be interesting to see what he does without his D1 back "Sean Nixon" who will be wearing the purple of TCU come this fall. Told Sean was the engine that made that team run in a down year for Lake Travis. We will all get to see Sean soon enough and see if he is as good as my sources claim him to be. It is good to have a relationship re started with Lake Travis and the Austin area as they can't all go to Thee University of Texas.
