I don't know my neighbors at all. I'm fine with that.

My neighborhood has a large number of Asian families, mostly Chinese American, and I'd be just fine with being the only non-Asian family in the neighborhood. Quiet, friendly, and quiet - just how I like it.

This x 100000000000000. In my neighborhood I have 3 Asian families close by and all 3 are the exact same from my view point. Clean house, clean garage, quiet and well behaved kids, etc.

Re: CF--Do you sometimes refer to a neighbor by a group they belong to?

The town I grew up in is pretty small. We just used their names because we knew them all.

We shared a backyard area in the house I rented last year in Ames. The three houses had their own areas, but we were often all out there at the same time, so it was kind of a common area type thing. Anyway, we didn't really like the people in one of the other houses so we called them the dooshbros. Pretty self explanatory.

Same here. I won't outwardly ignore any of them if they happen to come up and talk to me, but I don't go out of my way to socialize with any of them.

    Ugh.
That is exactly how my moms family gives directions in rural Tampa county (Garwin area).

For us we have the newly divorced people next door and the country folk who moved to the city.

I call my one neighbors "the ninjas"... Probably not very politically correct.
