    Re: Bars in the Ozarks

We typically stay around mile 7, so kind of in the middle of them, typically head one way one day, and another way another day. Crownline.
My condo is on 7 mile mark. Condo's are called Millstone. BTW Coconuts hires umm adult dancers to just come sun bathe by the pool. THey don't pay them. Just give them free drinks. Last time we went there were about 20 of them. There also about another 25 or so that were even better looking. So if you are married, wear sunglasses and have your head on a swivel.

What does it cost to rent a pontoon or boat nowadays?

After all the taxes and fees it was 1000 bucks for 2 days. I believe it was a 16 person pontoon.

The problem is that you get a 16 person pontoon with a 80 hp motor most of the time. If you search around a little, you can find pontoons with outboards that are big enough for you to go faster than 10 mph.

    Re: Bars in the Ozarks

I would suggest still getting a boat. Bars to go to for sure are Shady Gators, Franky and Louie's(for rum runners with a floater), Coconuts, Paradise, and Beavers on the dam. If you go to coconuts go to the Hill Billy Yacht Club.... It's a step back in time but is very cheap. This is all doable by bus but will take a lot longer.

I believe it was 115 hp, we really didn't have a problem getting around.

We're heading to Branson Monday. Daughter has a World Series softball tournament all week long. How close is Branson to the Ozarks?

    Re: Bars in the Ozarks

Holy cow, if you think some of those bars are far apart by boat, wait to you try driving them by land. Not to mention for F and L's you have to use the toll.

Also, unless you want to spend about $250.000 and up, 'pontoon's' are the way to go. Many triton's, even rentals, can push 60 mph. The best barhopping vehicle at the lake hands down.

I spent years parking a 40 footer, and 36 footer, barhopping, and if there is any wind, it sucks.

So I'm assuming the person driving the boat has to stay sober? I mean...that kind of sucks right? Aren't they pretty big on busting boaters down there?
