    NG had a Train.
S Duff had a single plane, it was pretty big. Could sit in the wings, or cockpit.
Campus town had a sunk in hippie weed lounge.

How about a Chinese-Mexican Restaurant that has checking accounts and sells mattresses and auto parts on the side?

"Overpriced" food is pretty common fare now for college students - i.e. Fighting Burrito and the other fast casual types of places. Hardee's doesn't really evoke that same sense, but something like a Five Guys would still make a killing in Ames (not West Ames though, that is true).

Also Pay Day Loans, Rent to Own, and one of those places where you can get your fingernails and toenails trimmed and painted!

NG was open through 94 or so; I worked there PT while I was a single parent, in 92/93. Growing boys in sports need new shoes/cleats 3+ times a year, plus they both wanted to go to church camp in the summer. :) The extra I made there helped accomplish that.

Change checking accounts to a less obsolete form of financing and it's brilliant!

I do love the Frisco, I was disappointed by the new Western BBQ thinger because I love BK's rodeo cheeseburgers, I thought it'd be better but it just wasn't that good.

Well, I remember when that used to be a Felix and Oscar's pizza ground level and a bar below that. They made a mean "what's blitz" beverage, with a deposit on the glass.
