I think its worth noting that this was a morning show. Those shows often tend a little bit more towards the 'unprofessional'. Karl Stefanovic (an australian anchor) is a good one to look up if you want some funny examples.

I agree with all of this, and will add she should have said no to how the assignment was setup and want the station wanted.

The comments were not professional, but count me in the group that finds it strange to send a reporter to a pool in a bikini for a segment. There's a fine line between putting someone good on television to do your reporting and exploiting that person's looks.

Agreed. The comments were stupid and have no place in a news broadcast. I would have loved to have seen her lash out against that guy on live tv.

Reading through this thread, I didn't really see any posts that were implying that the way she was dressed was saying "she deserved those comments". It looks like most everyone agrees that 1) the comments were uncalled for and 2) she was placed in a bad position by the station in the first place.

Out of curiosity, with everything else being the same, if you are watching the same news come from a 25-40 year old anchor, would you watch the station with the attractive anchor versus the unattractive one?*

Hoiberg: I have a unique situation here. I grew up here. I went to college here. My family is close and my wife's family is close. I know everyone in the community and my family is very comfortable here. My daughter has dreamed about one thing and that's going to Iowa State. The NBA is great and I love the NBA, but I love Iowa State and the opportunity I have here. We've really built something special and I think we've got real momentum to keep it going even more.

The goon was totally unprofessional, even after prompts from his co-anchor to chill. A lot of men were probably thinking the same thing, but weren't on the air. In this age of PC, you have to think before you talk.

Can we stop saying that "PC" is the reason that he should have watched himself? How about just being decent to a colleague and not feeling entitled to spout off whatever ******** crosses your mind?

This is my favorite thing about all of this I think, when people say that you can't do stuff like this because of political correctness. Man, times sure were better when you didn't have to show respect towards female coworkers or women in general, am I right?

Seems like the only thing that's been left out is something like this: "If she didn't want to be seen, she shouldn't have left the kitchen."
