With some googling I found that the FIBA Europe U18 championships is July 24-August 3. I think that's what he's playing in.

Hopefully he can get over here shortly after that. There's plenty of time for him to play on national teams after he improves in the B12.

For some reason I thought he was playing on the men's team, not u18

Do you know where any of the roster info or schedules could be located...in English.

Maybe he's just working out with them but I guess I'd be surprised when presumably they want to get the team ready and wouldn't spend a lot of time with guys that aren't going.

Classes start August 25th. If he played through Sept 14th, you're looking at him missing 3.5 weeks minimum.

That would put a serious damper on my enthusiasm for him actually stepping on the court for us.

All of the previous articles say he will come August 5th with his family coming to visit with him for a couple of weeks. That time frame would fit in perfect with the u18 FIBA World Cup and classes starting.

Seems entirely possible that while the Greek national team wants him in the fold early they also realize that only a handful of 17 year olds on the planet could have an impact on the fiba worlds.

Tsalmpouris is who the Iowa State coaches thought he would be.

Yes. Playing on the Greece U18 team until early August and then he'll be on his way over to ISU.

This is good news. I'm glad he's not waiting until mid-Sept to arrive.

It will be interesting to hear reports of how he looks on the court in person and see him play in the non-con. Not expecting a lot this year, but hopefully we can see that he has great potential for next year.
