Big Monday games were announced in early August last year, which is usually the same time the conference schedule comes out. Will be a long wait for that now.
That's the better wait than the soon renewal letters. They should be coming out soon.

Not that we will win, but we should be favored in all of those games.

The only thing that matters is W's. The quality of the wins would be an issue if you're on the bubble, but as long as we take care of business in the conference that is all that matters. I don't see us getting penalized one bit for the schedule. Another thing that will help is that we'll be going into the year ranked.

One thing we do having go for us... 4 neutral court games (a lot of teams will only have 2 or at most 3), and 1 away game. That helps come tourney time if we can take care of business in those.

We better take care of business. Each of those teams suck.

This schedule is horrible. Just horrible. There is nothing there to get ready for the Big 12. I get that the MTE is close and there will be tons of Cardinal and Gold there, but it doesn't help RPI...

Good, because the goal should be to find the RPI balance and play as many teams at the low end of the top 100 of the RPI and the upper end of the 200's of the RPI and avoid the 300 RPI teams to place us in the best position to get in to the NCAA Tournament.

In terms of helping the RPI, we're past that. We're going to be starting from a lofty position and the conference is solid. We just need to make sure we play the RPI game right, not go out of our way to have the #1 SOS.

You're never past RPI when you're playing for seeding.

This SOS will be right around 125. You don't have to have #1, but sure shouldn't have 3 digits. This is extremely weak. At least get 2 worthwhile games in there, home and away, then play the cupcakes.

    Re: Non-Conference Schedule

Not as strong as last season, I get that. But what is wrong with Georgia State, Arkansas, Iowa, and two of Maryland, Alabama and Arizona State? Think some are going way overboard on extremely criticizing the schedule, imo. Especially since we have 1 inelgible to play til Dec. 20 and two with probable early suspensions of some variety.

    Re: Non-Conference Schedule

Maybe its just the cyclone football fan in me but I get tired of #1 SOS. People are over reacting, and unfortunately I'm sure they are the same one's crying about the football schedule always being so tough. Maybe its just the long time cyclone fan in me but as long as were winning I'm happy. Lord knows diehard cyclones fans have still had to love their teams when winning wasn't as common. Be grateful and quit crying.

    Re: Non-Conference Schedule

I wonder what the cost difference is in paying an RPI top100-150 team vs a RPI top250-350 team. I don't know the numbers but I'd guess its a factor in how our schedule is put together.

and spare me the whining about the home schedule - NO ONE is going to want to play us in Hilton. I wonder how many schools we called. 40 out of the top 40 I'd guess....

I agree. I think this year, we won't need the marquee wins to get national attention. We just have to take care of business. And if we can use the non-conference games to get off to great starts in games, we will be even stronger when Big 12 conference time comes. Further, we can get even stronger if we can play a lot of non-starters for more minutes during non-conference.
