Arizona State isn't going to be very good at all. They lost their three best players in Carson and Bachynski to the NAB and Marshall to graduation. Four other players transferred away from them in the offseason as well. I think the NIT is probably ASU's ceiling next year. ISU should handle them without difficulty.

If ISU ends up in the Top 3 of the Big 12 this year I would expect them to get matched up with Florida in the 2015 Big 12/SEC challenge. KU played them last year and this year and would probably get Kentucky in 2015 if KU finishes Top 3 in the Big 12. With ISU getting national pub these days I think ISU-Florida would be a more attractive match up than Texas-Florida. And has ISU accepted any invites to 2015 tourneys yet? Some teams have booked that far ahead already so I wasn't sure.

No invites for 2015 yet but holding out hope for either (1) Battle 4 Atlantis (2) Puerto Rico-Tip Off or (3) Old Spice Classic. I see that Ku is headed to Maui in 2015.

Not bad overall though the home schedule lacks some luster. The Big 12 schedule will bring a lot of big games as always though.

I don't really get this comment, were you just grabbing an overused expression and sticking it at the end of your thoughts? How is college basketball in a "sad state?" I thought the parody last year made it one of the best seasons in quite a while.

I agree. It's really pretty similar to last year minus the Michigan game. With the suspensions and no McKay, it'll probably take longer for the team to gel too.

It's kind of insulting to raise prices on that schedule.
In a way, I hope that's the best they could do, but I can't really believe that it was.

I can agree with this. Honestly, did the Michigan game even help us any with our seeding last year? It seemed like the committee more or less ignored how big of a game that was and just looked at our overall non-conf W/L record.

Bland on the surface; could've benefited from additional game against a team with a pulse.

But my hunch: Opponents' collective computer numbers will be better than it looks.

    Re: Non-Conference Schedule

Even though the schedule seems bland to the naked eye, if we can go undefeated in nonconference play again it's very possible that we could start conference play ranked Top 5. All thanks to being ranked to start the season.
