Do they let kids in to eat? Love going there but rarely go since we now have a 2 year old. I assume they do, but you never know.

I've also heard the Oakland Road Hy Vee liquor store in CR has a fantastic selection, as the manager there is a huge beer guy. True?

I've heard a lot of good things about Red's Alehouse in North Liberty. Anyone been?

Thanks. Just Googled it as well. Impressive. May have to take a weekend to CR later this summer.

That's not what you come to these bars for, go to BDubs.

Speaking of BDubs, the one hereis being remodeled and they're adding 10 more taps behind the bar. I just know they're going to be filled with garbage, like Miller Fortune. I hope I'm wrong tho.

I'm pretty sure that Bruno has said that Coors Light and Miller Lite still outsell anything they have more than 2-1. Sad really...

One of my friends, who is a big beer guy, raved about the Oakland Rd Hy-Vee liquor store a few weeks ago. I'd say it is probably true.

My wife and I tried it a few weeks ago. We were impressed. They had a lot of different beers on their menu and we didn't see too much of the stardard fare.

The food there, though, was excellent. It was a step up from typical bar/restaurant food. They're known for burgers, however their chicken was amazing--just melted right in my mouth.

Getting a table can be tricky on busy nights. Last fall on a Sat night, we had at least a two hour wait, so we went somewhere else. We finally got in during the Memorial Day weekend and had no wait issues. You can (should) call ahead.

They have a restaurant, bar, and outside patio areas. People were dressed up down to wearing bicycle attire and everything in between.

My wife and I loved this place and would go back.

Isn't the guy who started Reds in North Liberty the same guy who is doing the one in Solon?

Their bars with liquor licenses have IPA that flirt with the 10% mark, so your post is simply full of fail.
Easy bro, gave you my opinion. I was not drinking Coors, I was looking for solid IPA's and they were lacking. El Bait beats Tapwerks in my honest opinion, the selection there was not up to par with El Bait. They had some obscure beers, but nothing outstanding to me. Each man has his own opinion and you apparently have a very strong opinion favoring Tapwerks and I do not. Let's agree to disagree or you can flex your internet muscles and feel like a tough guy.

I have no doubt it's a good bar. However, My buddy and I went there after a Cubs game and both got the daily special. We both got food poisoning. I chalked it up to "**** Happens". I would still go back.

    Parlor City?
This is a fair assessment. I'm more of a IPA guy as well, but I still enjoyed my time going there.

Overall it's just nice to see Cedar Rapids in a bit of a revival right now with that whole New Bo area going on. I'm hoping that more of the new upstart restaurants and bars can get their wait staff training down pat, because many are just plain awful right now. It's taken a long time for Parlor City to just become marginal.
