    Running Shoes

Looking to replace my Brooks running shoes that have done their time and then some. What kind of shoes do you run in and what would you recommend?

    Re: Running Shoes

I ran in Nikes for many years but a few years back tried the Asics Nimbus and they have been perfect for me. I can't count how many pairs I've gone through. I am older and need a shoe that has some cushion and they have reduced my knee pain.

    Re: Running Shoes

I run in Brooks Glycerin shoes. Most comfortable shoe I have ever wore for running. I'll even wear them casually sometimes.

Someone off-topic - about a 8 or so months ago I got a pair of Ecco shoes for business casual attire - their Biom collection. I'll never buy another brand of shoe for that purpose. Expensive, but worth every single penny.

Ditto except it's back pain for me.

I have the Brooks Ghost 6, as does my wife. We're both happy with them.

    Re: Running Shoes

I like Brooks and Asics for long distance, and Nikes for sprint workouts. I find that most Asics have really good cushion which is nice on long runs and it's easy to find a pair of light and durable Nikes for sprints

    Re: Running Shoes

Saucony, Asics, and New Balance are usually my go to, but it's really whatever works for you. Currently in Saucony and enjoying them a whole lot.

Nike is really the only shoe that has given me any back or joint pain. Not a Nike guy

    Re: Running Shoes

I only run in Newtons. Introduced to them a couple years ago and won't run in anything else. Ran my last two marathons in them.

I currently run in the Newton Ironman Elite...best running shoe I have ever owned. Very light and made for front foot running.

Asic's Gel Kayano. Heavier, but awesome for long runs.

    Re: Running Shoes

I have some Pumas which I love, but I also generally don't run more than 3 miles most of the time as well, so it might depend on your length of running.

I just got some Merrell's. I love them so far. Super light and durable and simulates barefoot running. They are great

Had some Ghost 5s and liked them. I was then introduced the Brooks Glycerin and loved them. Ran my first marathon in them.
