If you figure that after going 6-0 we aren't catching anyone sleeping anymore (see 2002) I can see their point on our ceiling. But lucky for us the second half is easier this time. If we start 6-0 it would be conceivable we could win 4 out of last 6 (Texas and our the most likely losses at that point).

No reason we could go 10-2 with some Rhoads motivation and Mangino magic can't see us beating OU and texas this year though. That would likely put us in a better bowl that we would more likely lose though. So either way we finish 10-3 but this way we go out on top. I think this may be our most favorable plausible scenario. I mean a redneck fever could hit Texas and Oklahoma forcing their entire states into month of diarrhea and vomiting and we go 12-0... but again. Not that plausable.

That would be some amazing journalism right there. Everybody is 12-0 best case, 0-12 worst case.

Seems there's no middle of the road in these scenarios, as the most realistic area is the 4-7 win area, in which Rhoads has landed all but last season.

Agree - if ESPN thinks the worst we can do next year is 3 wins I've got a bad feeling we can find a way to go below that number. Thanks for setting the bar dicks

I kind of agree with the best and worst case in terms of wins and losses. Don't see Mangino's offense being so poor we switch to the wishbone though. Not completely sure if that was supposed to be a joke or not, Chatmon didn't use a jimlad.

I suggest revising this to pledging to drink at least nine a day.... well at least until they win 10 games.

yeah, I'm a little upset that an article that's purpose is to look at the two extremes of a team's potential didn't go to the middle of the road!

I haven't had a beer since college. So I'll have one if we win 9 games.

Just seems like they exaggerated a lot one way, but left little error in the other.

Re: Check out ESPN's ISU Best Case

Some of you guys need to quit taking things like this so seriously. Of course 12-0 is technically the best case scenario. I thought it was a fun read that showed pretty good knowledge of ISU and what it would take for them to win.

It's probably be led by Lakesbison saying "yeah, but if our wide receiver didn't drop that pass on fourth down, we would have beaten you guys instead of losing by 50 and you'd be 5-1".
