Considering D Wade shot more free throws than Dallas did as a team, it was pretty bad

'06 was the worst finals officiating I've seen, '02 lakers/kings wcf was easily the worst overall nba officiating I've seen, but rewarding the Spurs for Horry's cheapshot still miffs me as bad as any, the definition of being too rigid. I don't even rember 12 or 13 finals calls compared to those.

NBA opening night games are Dallas at San Antonio and Houston at Lakers. I'll pass. Cleveland opens at home against Knicks, then a game next night with Chicago.

Christmas day is solid with Cavs in Miami, Wiz vs Knicks, Lakers in Chicago, Thunder vs Spurs and Warriors at Clippers

Three out of the five Christmas games look intriguing. CLE-MIA for obvious reasons, OKC-SAS (possible conference finals matchup), and GS-LAC (should be an up and down game and maybe some bad blood from their playoff series last year). The other two I doubt I'll pay much attention to. I understand the Lakers and Knicks are huge markets but they're going to be **** on toast this season.

Anthony Davis looked incredible for Team USA against Brazil tonight, could be poised for a true breakout season in the NBA this year. Rose got a lot of minutes, little rusty but showed flashes.

The guy looks massive now. Only if The Pelicans hadn't traded all their lottery picks in the last couple of years, they could be much better. I have a inkling he leaves for like the Lakers in 4 years.

He'll have to stay healthy, too. He's missed like thirty some games in his NBA career so far. Too early to tell if those were just fluky things or if he's just one of those injury prone players. One was a knee sprain and then the other was a broken bone, but I forget where.
As for leaving for the Lakers (sorry, going off on a bit of a tangent here) I don't think that being in a big media market is that great an advantage for NBA teams chasing free agents anymore. With young stars like Paul George and Kevin Durant proving that you can build your brand playing for a small market and LA actually seeing a premier free agent choose to leave town with the Dwight Howard fiasco, there might be a shift away from the idea that the best place to be is New York or LA.
