Problem is that Wade probably still thinks the Heat is "his team".

This. Bosh has said he wants to stay in Miami so i could see him taking a bit of a paycut. Wade is going to be a harder sell, he's been in a Heat jersey his whole career, he'll be like those guys came and joined my team, I sacrificed being king s**t around here for LeBron to be the top dog, now you want me to take a pay cut?

Doesn't that mean they can opt out? COuldn't they then re-sign for less?

Yes, but Miami can't force them to do anything. The 3 players each have a over $40mil guaranteed over the next 2 years. Miami can (and should) try to convince them sign for less, but in the end if all three want to be here for 2 years at their current salary, they can, and all Miami can do is try and trade them.

If LeBron bolts, then you just have a lot of money to throw around, you will likely have a lottery guy the next year and you build around that in the future. I just don't see how you pay a ton of money to Wade and Bosh and then sign them again unless Wade finds the fountain of youth. Bosh is what he is which is a guy who can stretch the court a little. There are a lot of those guys.
Bosh is better than you're give him credit for, there aren't many guys in the league who can defend the way the Heat have asked him to over the past four years and none of them can come close to shooting as well as Bosh. He was third in the league in midrange shooting percentage this past year, trailing only Dirk and Steph Curry. The Heat have asked him to take a very specific role and he has done that, his shooting is a big key to their offense. I think going forward they need to ask him to be their number two guy instead of Wade.

They should just show him that youtube video of his terrible defense in the Finals before saying "Yes, that's exactly what we want".

As far as winning an NBA championship, Westbrook reminds of Shaq and the Lakers in this regard. Shaq could carry the Lakers, but he could also put them into difficult binds with his poor FT shooting. Typically, the Lakers had enough talent to get enough stops after the missed FTs, get the ball back, and score enough to win.

Yes, Westbrook can carry the Thunder at times. But championship-wise, IMO, the Thunder don't have enough talent right now to overcome his "WTF" stretches (i.e. where he keeps shooting/forcing despite being ice cold, allowing the opposition to build a nice lead). They are certainly good enough to get in the playoffs and win a couple of series, but not the whole thing. It will be interesting to see how it works out.

Nash's ex-wife took him to the wood shed in their divorce so he'll keep playing as long as some poor sucker will keep paying.

I don't think that's true at all. I think Wade sees not only that it's James' team but that his ability has rapidly deteriorated. The fact that he had to be managed throughout the year to have a chance to play healthy should be a pretty obvious sign that you aren't the player you used to be.

Steve Nash can't make good money doing TV or coaching?

Man, you better REALLY love whoever you're taking with that pick, because Kyrie is going to have all the same issues you have with Westbrook, except he's not as good. I don't know why you blow up a core that's already a contender to make that trade.
