Will they give it back? Yeah sometimes. Are they supposed to? No.

Nope. They will let her in, feed her free drinks and kick you off the property.

Have a friend let you in a side/back door?

Re: Getting into a bar with no I.D.

I was a door guy for a two years in college. Now this was a college bar but we would have older people from time to time come in without an ID. I would get my manager and make him make the judgement call.

On a side note, I turned the fakes into my manager pending they did not look like anyone I knew that was underage....

I had never been asked before because I don't look as old as I am. Must be getting past that point now! Maybe I should shave the gray beard.

I am picturing our OP like the guy from Foreigner’s Jukebox Hero:

Standing in the rain with his head hung low
Had lost his ID, no way into the show
Heard the roar of the crowd, he could picture the scene
Put his ear to the wall, then like a distant scream
He heard one guitar, just blew him away

Re: Getting into a bar with no I.D.

It may just be me but how do you not know where your id is? Do you regularly take it out of your wallet and or not drive?

I guess I was always taught to pretty much have it on you at all times when you leave the house for identification purposes should something bad happen.

Actually you're suppose to give it back, you have to file a police report and give a receipt if you hold onto the id.

Maybe a nice officer already "found" it for him . . . during a traffic stop.

Just go to the last place you remember having it, then retrace your steps until you get to the place where you lost it or misplaced it. Sheesh.

I had a roommate that lost his school i.d. once every 3 days because he didnt use a wallet and wore athletic shorts.
