Re: Game of Thrones Season 4 - Thread Attempt #2

I thought that was a great episode. More action than a lot of "action" movies. Yeah, it didn't move the plot forward like a lot of other episodes, but sometimes you just have to throw down and battle it out. Season finale is going to be bittersweet.

Giants riding mammoths, the ice scraper blade, Sam acting like a man, Jon going for a head shot once again this season, elevator boy shooting his bow and arrow.

Only the last one sucked. Poor Ygritte.

I thought that was the best episode of the season.

Intense! Nice change of pace. Rather than touch on three or four different storylines, sometimes it's nice to have an action packed episode that follows one story thread. Just one more reason this show is the most brilliant thing on tv right now.

I was sad seeing any of the giants die. There doesn't seems to be a whole lot of them left in the world. Tyenns on the other hand..

Re: Game of Thrones Season 4 - Thread Attempt #2

That was a fun episode. Jon puting the hammer through the Magnar's head was epic. The boy who killed Ygritte avenged her parents death at her hands, but bittersweet because Ygritte was a good character in a bad situation.

You missed the point of the whole episode. This was about Jon becoming the true leader of the watch via respect for his leadership during this battle.

    No kidding!

I loved the episode. Jon v. the Magnar was probably one of the coolest fights yet for me, up there with Viper v Mountain. And that rotating shot of the battle inside Castle Black was unreal from a technical standpoint, reminded me of the drug deal scene in True detective, all single camera/single take with incredible action. Great episode overall, probably could've made a spinoff 3 hour movie and still kept it interesting.

No, I got the point and I just expected more as far as the plot is concerned. Then again, I'm not really into the pure action and am more interested in plot development.

I will really miss Ygritte. She was nice.

I guess I am confused as to what you thought was lacking? Would you have preferred the Crows and the Thenns sat down, shared a skin of wine, and talked about their feelings?

Now that would have been a twist no one would have seen coming!
