    Best FINAL track

The other thread was great and got me thinking...best final track.

I'm sticking with my album choice and voting for Echoes on Pink Floyd's Meddle.

runner up - Under the Sun / Every Day Comes and Goes on Black Sabbath's Vol. 4.

"Train in Vain" by The Clash's London Calling. "Train in Vain" was originally a hidden track.

    Re: Best FINAL track

"Twist and Shout" does a good job encapsulating everything about the early Beatles, maybe their best track prior to Rubber Soul.

How do you not have "A Day in the Life" on there?

I think the obvious pick for me, though, is probably "We Won't Get Fooled Again."

There. Beatles/Who handled, everybody else talk about other bands. :)

I listed about 25 songs in the other thread. This thread only needs one because it's so far ahead of the rest:

"Only In Dreams" - Weezer, Weezer (Blue Album)

Beat me to it. Amazing song. There is a YouTube video of Weezer practicing Only In Dreams from before they recorded the Blue album. I'm on mobile otherwise I'd post it. It's worth a watch or 20.

    Re: Best FINAL track

I'll give aditional vote for "Oh, Sweet Nuthin'" and "Train in Vain," among those already mentioned.

    Another that came to mind:
"The End," The Beatles (assuming "Her Majesty" is unofficial track)

Others will come to me soon I'm sure.

    Re: Best FINAL track

"Anuhuac" by the Austin Lounge Lizards on Creatures from the Black Lagoon.

"I was born when I was little, in the town of Anahuac
Where the air is all smelly and the mud is real black
I grew up in the backyard with my head in a paper sack
Sniffin' glue in the mud of Anahuac.

Well, when I was thirteen, I left my home in Anahuac
And I sunk so low even they wouldn't take me back.
I'm as ugly as a lump and I'm dumber as a rock
And my head feels all mushy like a puffball.

Anahuac ! Anahuac ! Well, you used to be my home
    But you're not anymore."

I've always liked the last song "Owen Meaney" at the end of Lagwagon's album "Let's Talk About Feelings".

Really? It certainly doesn't encapsulate how they're the greatest songwriters ever considering that Twist and Shout is a cover, and I can think of dozens of better Beatles songs that came out before Rubber Soul, including every single original track on the Help! album.

While there are some worthy contenders, this conversation really begins and ends with When the Levee Breaks, though.

    Re: Best FINAL track

Respectfully, "When the Levee Breaks" wasn't truly a Led Zeppelin original. They reworked a song that was originally a blues song from 1929. Almost a cover if you will.

    Great song however.

This, and any other answer is incorrect.
