    Re: Facilities

they made a lead gift ask a few weeks ago in the Southwest. No response yet that I know of. (I can't say what state)

Right now, suites are the main priority in getting people to commit to those. It's going well from what I hear.

    Re: Facilities

Indiana University recently passed a similar Facitlities upgrade plan. They are projecting <3 years to do the exact same improvements - literally the exact same. They are starting construction almost immediately. $10M is requested of donors, but the majority (>$40M) is being raised through the selling of bonds (debt). Does anyone know if ISU thought of/considered selling bonds to raise the money a little quicker and get this project going sooner?

    Re: Facilities

After the debt fiasco concerning the Jaconson Building, I'm not sure if the Board of Regents would allow ISU to assume a large debt load for the 'Master Plan'. I think that is one of JP's selling points, the fact that he plans on paying for this through donations/increased revenue.

The sad thing is that $40 is considered standard (or even cheap) for regular games at most college stadiums.

I should clarify somewhat. IU is issuing bonds backed by upcoming ticket revenue and media rights. Thus, they are essentially doing the same as ISU, but in a more expedited manner. They are just ear-marking a % of revenue from these sources to cancel a portion of the bonds each year. I honestly don't see much risk in ISU doing this. But, then again, I am not Pollard or a member of the board of regents. It would be nice to see some groundbreaking though.
